In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a government official illegally purchased garbage trucks worth over ₴2 million
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a leading public procurement specialist at one of the municipal enterprises has been notified that she is suspected of abuse of office. According to the investigation, the purchase of used garbage trucks caused more than 2 million hryvnias in losses to the municipal budget.
She is charged with an offense under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—abuse of official position resulting in serious consequences.
According to the investigation, in 2024–2025, a municipal enterprise of the Nikopol City Council purchased four used garbage trucks.
The official, who was the authorized person for public procurement, determined the cost of the equipment in the documents and ensured that contracts were signed with three suppliers.
At the same time, an expert examination determined that the cost of the purchased garbage trucks significantly exceeded their market price.
As a result of these purchases, according to the investigation, the local community’s budget suffered losses totaling more than 2 million hryvnias.

The prosecutor’s office has already filed motions with the court to impose a preventive measure on the suspect and remove her from office.
The pretrial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the 1st Investigative Division of the 2nd Dniprovskyi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Operational support for the case is being provided by officers of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
At the same time, a notice of suspicion does not imply a finding of guilt. In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
The official was notified of the suspicion under the procedural guidance of the Left Bank District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Dnipro.
As a reminder, in the Zhytomyr region, police uncovered a group of “illegal” loggers who, according to the investigation, illegally cut down more than 8,500 trees. The damage to the state is estimated at over 33 million hryvnias.
