Thirty Ukrposhta branches remain open in the Donetsk region
In the part of Donetsk Oblast controlled by Ukraine, there are currently 24 stationary and 6 mobile post offices providing residents with services and delivering medications. One of the mobile teams uses an armored vehicle to operate in the most dangerous areas, in coordination with the military.
This was reported to Ukrinform by Maksym Sutkovyi, Director of JSC “Ukrposhta” for the Donetsk region, noting that 304 branches were operating in the region prior to Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Due to constant shelling and the high risk to life, branches in Mykolaivka, Raigorodok, and one branch in Kramatorsk were closed starting in late 2025. Despite regular damage to infrastructure, the postal operator adheres to the 24-hour rule, striving to restore operations within 24 hours. Staff are equipped with personal protective equipment and undergo special mine safety training to perform tasks in the frontline zone. While in Russia postal services in dangerous areas are often being scaled back, Ukrainian postal workers continue to provide access to cash and medicines in frontline communities.
Ukrposhta is launching a network of parcel lockers and updating its mobile app.
Nova Poshta raised its delivery rates effective April 13.
