According to the investigation, in late August 2025, he was on duty at a post in the Khmelnytskyi region and invited a female acquaintance, with whom he had previously dated, to visit him there. She arrived in the forest with a friend, unaware that it was a military post.
After the girls entered the dugout, the soldier offered them dinner. They consumed alcohol; the victim’s friend felt ill and went outside.
When the suspect was left alone with his ex-girlfriend, he began pressuring her, demanding that she resume their relationship and have sex with him.
“Upon being refused, the man began beating the girl. The beating lasted over half an hour. Afterward, knowing that she works in the modeling industry, he burned her face with a cigarette butt,” the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) stated.
Experts confirmed that, in addition to numerous bruises and abrasions, the victim suffered severe physical pain and psychological distress. The man was notified of his status as a suspect under Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—torture. The penalty under this article provides for 3 to 6 years of imprisonment.
The court imposed a preventive measure on him—detention without the right to bail.

The defense team for businessman and former MP Kostyantyn Zhevago called the information regarding the issuance of a new charge against him “manipulative” and stated that it does not comply with legal norms. Attorney Natalia Pushina noted that the procedural actions were initiated by Zhevago himself, not by the investigators, and that the charges are intended to exert political pressure and constitute an attempt at a hostile takeover of property.
Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court extended the preventive measure for another two months against one of the defendants in the case against businessman Konstantin Zhevago regarding the possible provision of an unlawful benefit to the then-head of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev.
