In Bila Tserkva, a teenager suffered a severe electric shock on the roof of a train car

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, an accident occurred at a railway station in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast: a 14-year-old boy was electrocuted on the roof of a tank car.

According to the State Emergency Service, specialists were able to remove the child from the structure only after the overhead contact line had been completely de-energized.

The victim remained conscious but suffered severe burns to his torso, legs, face, and neck. Rescuers transported the teenager to an ambulance, after which he was hospitalized. The State Emergency Service once again warns that the voltage in the railway contact network is deadly, and that one does not need to touch the wires to receive an electric shock—simply coming within a critical distance of them is sufficient.

As a reminder, a teenager died in Kyiv after falling from an electric train.

Also, in the Ternopil region, a man died during a landslide.
