Searches are being conducted at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant in connection with purchases made in previous years
On June 25, law enforcement officials are conducting investigative activities on the premises of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. Energoatom stated that the searches may pertain to certain procurement procedures carried out in previous years.
JSC “NAEK Energoatom” noted that it is fully cooperating with the investigation and providing all necessary documents and information. The company also emphasized that it is interested in an objective and impartial investigation of the circumstances of the case.
The company’s current management consistently adheres to the principles of transparency and accountability in corporate governance, fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies, and advocates for a proper legal assessment of all possible violations regardless of when they occurred, the statement
said.
At the same time, the company noted that the investigative actions do not affect the plant’s operations or safety. The Khmelnytskyi NPP continues to operate normally, ensuring stable electricity production and the reliable operation of its power units.
Earlier, NAEK “Energoatom” officially received a license to operate the nuclear facility. On May 28, the company was issued a license to operate the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF), allowing it to begin full-scale operations in accordance with safety requirements.
NAEK “Energoatom” reported that it is nearing the midpoint of the scheduled maintenance campaign at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
