Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree establishing the “Chornyi Lis” National Nature Park in the Kropyvnytskyi District of Kirovohrad Oblast.
“To establish the ‘Chornyi Lis’ National Nature Park on the territory of the Kropyvnytskyi District of the Kirovohrad Oblast,” the document states.
According to the decree, the territory of the new national nature park includes 13,710.2441 hectares of state- and municipally-owned land.
The creation of the park is intended to ensure the preservation of the region’s natural ecosystems and biodiversity, as well as to promote the protection of valuable natural areas in the Kirovohrad region.
The corresponding decree No. 719/2026 was published on the President’s website on August 11.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized the use of part of the land within the Chornobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve for the construction of fortifications and border infrastructure.
The presence of the golden jackalhas beenofficially confirmedin the Chornobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The animal had previously been detected through tracks and camera traps, but its presence has only now been definitively confirmed.
