In the Kyiv region, a man was notified that he is suspected of intentionally setting a car on fire
On May 20, law enforcement officials in the Bucha District of Kyiv Oblast charged a 46-year-old man who, according to the investigation, set fire to a local resident’s car.
The incident occurred in Gostomel near a private residence. According to preliminary information, the suspect, due to a conflict with the victim’s family, doused the car with flammable liquid and set it on fire. As a result of the fire, the vehicle was completely destroyed; there were no casualties. Law enforcement officials are charging the suspect with the intentional destruction of property by arson:
In the Bucha district, a 46-year-old man, while near a private residence, set fire to a local resident’s car. He faces up to 10 years in prison for the crime. The police received a report that a car was on fire on one of the streets in the village of Gostomel.
Law enforcement officers determined that the suspect had a conflict with the family of the 28-year-old victim. The perpetrator approached a parked Audi Q5 and, using a flammable liquid—a container of which he had prepared in advance—set fire to the vehicle belonging to the victim. As a result of the fire, the car was completely destroyed. There were no injuries.

Under the procedural guidance of the Bucha District Prosecutor’s Office, investigators notified the man that he is suspected of the intentional destruction of another person’s property by arson (Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
