An orange alert has been issued in the Kyiv region due to overnight frosts
On Tuesday, April 14, the Kyiv region and the capital will be affected by a cold front during the night.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of dangerous weather conditions that could negatively affect crops and early-blooming fruit trees.
The night of April 14 is expected to be critical for horticulture due to a significant drop in temperature.
In the Kyiv region, forecasters predict air temperatures as low as 0–3°C, corresponding to the second (orange) danger level.
Despite the frosty start to the day, daytime temperatures will rise steadily.
According to forecasts, daytime temperatures in the Kyiv region will reach 11–16°F, while in the capital itself, thermometers will rise to around 15°F.
Experts urge owners of private plots to take measures in advance to protect their plants.
This will help preserve the future harvest from the damaging effects of nighttime cold, which is a typical but dangerous phenomenon for mid-spring.
Next week, April 13–19, temperatures in Ukraine will rise significantly starting on Tuesday.
On Monday, April 13, unstable weather is expected across Ukraine, with precipitation in the form of rain and wet snow in some regions.
