In the Kyiv region, more than 300 people have declared weapons they found or received
A campaign for the voluntary declaration of firearms and ammunition is underway in the Kyiv region. Since the procedure began, 308 citizens have contacted the Fastiv District Police Department.
During this time, residents have declared 254 firearms, including 141 assault rifles, 72 smoothbore shotguns, 10 rifled carbines and rifles, and 31 pistols. In addition, 134,475 rounds of ammunition were registered.
Citizens also voluntarily surrendered 14 firearms and 2,315 rounds of ammunition to law enforcement.
The police remind the public that voluntary declaration exempts individuals from criminal liability and allows them to legally possess firearms. If you discover a weapon or ammunition, you must report the find by calling 102 and turn it in to the nearest police station within 24 hours.
