Train service has resumed in the Kyiv region following the shelling
Ukrzaliznytsia has resumed train service on the damaged section of track in the Kyiv region following the completion of emergency repair work. Commuter and passenger trains are once again running on this line, though some services are still experiencing delays.
“In the shortest possible time, railway workers—who began work immediately after receiving approval from State Emergency Service specialists—repaired the damaged infrastructure in the Kyiv region and resumed train service,” the statement said.
The company noted that commuter and passenger trains are already running on the restored section.
“At the same time, some trains are still running behind schedule. We are doing everything possible to return to the regular schedule as soon as possible,” Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
The carrier also announced that passengers on trains that will be delayed the longest will be provided with “Rail Snacks.”
About two dozen crews of power engineers, communications specialists, and track workers were mobilized for the restoration work, working simultaneously to get trains back on their usual routes as quickly as possible.
This was reported by the company’s press service.
We previously reported that Ukrzaliznytsia had rerouted a number of trains due to restrictions in the Kyiv region.
Earlier, Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing a new large-scale attack.
As a reminder, the Russians last launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of July 2. At that time, Russian forces launched 496 UAVs of various types and 74 missiles—air-, ground-, and sea-based—of various types at Ukraine.
