A temporary decline in air quality was recorded in the Kyiv region
Air quality has temporarily deteriorated in several towns and villages in the Kyiv region. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported this on Friday.
According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the deterioration may cause breathing difficulties, especially among the elderly, children, and people who are sensitive to air pollution.
"Air quality has deteriorated in the cities of: Vyshhorod, Boyarka, Vasylkiv, Obukhiv, Brovary, and the villages of Ivankiv and Velyka Dymerka, where elevated concentrations of fine particulate matter have been recorded,” the Telegram message states.
At the same time, according to KOVA, in most settlements of the Kyiv region, levels of chemical and biological substances in the air have not exceeded permissible limits.
Until the situation improves, experts recommend: keeping windows closed; limiting prolonged exposure to the outdoors; drinking plenty of water; and, if you have an air purifier, using it at maximum capacity.
At the same time, gamma radiation levels in the Kyiv region correspond to natural background levels.
The Kyiv Regional State Administration also noted that an extreme fire hazard remains in effect in the Kyiv region on August 7. “Weather conditions will contribute to a high probability of fires starting and spreading in ecosystems in the presence of ignition sources (open flames),” the statement said.

As a result of the Russian military’s nighttime attack on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026, 14 people were killed, and another 27 civilians were injured. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
Over the past 24 hours, on August 4, Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 1,052 times, striking 50 settlements in the region. Two people were injured as a result of shelling in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.
