Delays are possible at the border crossing in Shehyni
At the "Shehyni–Medyka" border crossing, the processing of trucks will be temporarily slowed down due to repair work on the Polish side. The restrictions will be in effect all day on May 23, so drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and allow for possible delays. Border crossings for freight transport will be limited to the bus lane.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, noting that the changes were caused by roadwork on the Polish side of the border crossing. According to border guards, on May 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, road repairs will be conducted on the truck lanes in the direction of entry into Poland (exit from Ukraine).
As a result, the processing of large-sized vehicles will be redirected to the bus lane, which will inevitably slow down traffic. “We ask drivers to take this information into account when planning their routes,” the State Border Guard Service emphasized, urging drivers to account for possible delays and adjust their travel schedules.
Border guards also noted that Ukraine and Poland may soon introduce joint border control at checkpoints, which should simplify border crossing procedures in the future. During recent talks, the parties discussed the development of border infrastructure, logistics, and cooperation in various areas, including security and energy.
