There has been a disruption at the border with Poland; traffic through the "Medika" border crossing is moving slowly
Technical issues with the Polish Border Guard’s database have arisen at the “Medika” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border, causing delays in processing vehicles and passengers.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The issue concerns the database used to process passenger and commercial vehicles, buses, and pedestrians entering and exiting Poland.
Due to the technical glitch, border control procedures are proceeding at a slower pace.
As of this evening, a line of over 50 passenger cars had formed at the exit from Ukraine. At the same time, there is no traffic build-up at the entry into Ukraine, nor are there any lines among buses and pedestrians.
The State Border Guard Service recommended that travelers choose alternative border crossing points if possible: “Smilnytsia,” “Nyzhankovychi,” “Hrushiv,” “Rava-Ruska,” and “Ugryniv.”
The U.S. is set to provide Poland with a $2 billion loan to purchase weapons: F-35 fighter jets, Patriot air defense missile systems, and Abrams tanks.
Earlier, Poland signed an agreement with the U.S. for the supply of 96 AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters, along with a logistics and training package, for a total cost of $10 billion.
