In the Carpathian region, a lieutenant colonel of the TSK was arrested for accepting a bribe to remove someone from the wanted list
Law enforcement officials have caught the acting head of one of the district traffic police stations and traffic control centers in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast accepting $2,000.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, the 36-year-old official demanded this money from two men subject to military service in exchange for avoiding mobilization and removing information about their being wanted. The lieutenant colonel assured the men that without a monetary reward, they would be detained for the preparation of an administrative report, followed by conscription into service.
The suspect was detained while receiving the second installment of the bribe. On March 13, 2026, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense in the Western Region officially notified him of his suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit as a public official. The court has already imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention, allowing for the possibility of bail. Investigative proceedings are currently ongoing; law enforcement officials are establishing other possible instances of the detainee’s corrupt activities and preparing a motion to remove him from his position. While Russia wages a war of aggression, such cases within the recruitment system undermine the country’s defense capabilities and discredit mobilization efforts.
Additionally, the head of the TCC department in Zakarpattia was detained on suspicion of extorting two vehicles. The
Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office announced charges against a native of the Odesa region who organized an illegal scheme to remove conscripts from the wanted list.
