In the Carpathian region, a couple became parents to a unique set of triplets

In Lviv, 36-year-old Natalia Kukuruza gave birth to three daughters who were conceived without the use of assisted reproductive technology. Natural triplets occur in only one out of every 80,000 pregnancies, making this a rare medical case

This was reported in a post by St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital on Facebook.

Due to risks associated with the mother’s high blood pressure and kidney condition, doctors performed a cesarean section at 36 weeks of pregnancy. The girls, Anna, Sofia, and Victoria, were born weighing between 1,860 and 2,200 grams. To ensure safe monitoring of the infants’ health, the family moved from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast to Lviv in the middle of the pregnancy.

Currently, the new mother and the newborns are under the care of specialists at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital. The girls’ father, Ruslan Kukuruza, noted that there have been cases of multiple pregnancies in his family, as his mother was born a twin. The couple already has two children from previous relationships, so the family is now a large one.

Former world No. 2, Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova, has become the mother of twins.

Nearly 82,000 Ukrainian families are already receiving monthly child care benefits for children under one year of age. Ordinary families receive 7,000 UAH, while families raising a child with a disability receive 10,500 UAH.
