Yermak expressed his respect for state institutions in court

During a recess in the court hearing, former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak stated that he respects Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies and all state institutions. He also commented on the correspondence that the prosecution had presented in court.

According to Yermak, he does not wish to comment in detail on the case materials so as not to influence the judicial process. Responding to a question about his attitude toward anti-corruption agencies, Yermak said he has respect for all state institutions in Ukraine. “Absolutely. I have respect for state institutions in our country in general,” he stated.

According to Yermak, institutions are the foundation of the state. “We’re talking about institutions. Without institutions, without a state, what is there to talk about at all?” he added.

Separately, journalists asked him about the correspondence that the prosecution had presented during the hearing. Yermak hinted that he does not know many of the people who might refer to him by name. “Unfortunately, when you hold a position… someone always wants to refer to you, and you don’t even know these people,” he said.

The former head of the Presidential Office also commented on the mention of the name “AB,” which appeared in the case materials. “My only name is Andriy Yermak. So AB or whatever… well, my name is Andriy. My close friends don’t call me AB or anything like that,” he stated.

At the same time, Yermak emphasized that he does not want to comment on the case materials until the trial is over. “We are in the middle of the process today. I wouldn’t want my comments to influence this process,” he stressed.

The trial is currently ongoing. Journalists and the public are closely following the proceedings due to the statements made by the parties and the evidence presented in court.

Andriy Yermak told journalists that he lacks the 180 million hryvnias needed to post bail, noting that he possesses only the property and funds listed in his official declaration

On the evening of May 11, after receiving a notice of suspicion from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, former Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated that he would not comment on anything during the investigation.
