In the Carpathian region, rescue workers recovered the body of a missing 13-year-old boy from the river

In the city of Halych, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, employees of the State Emergency Service discovered and recovered from the water the body of a teenager born in 2013. The child had gone missing the day before while on the banks of the Dniester River with a peer. 

An unmanned aerial vehicle was deployed for the search and rescue operation, allowing specialists to survey approximately 2 km of the riverbed downstream from the presumed point of disappearance. 

Mountain rescuers on a catamaran additionally searched 7.3 km of the water’s surface, while a State Emergency Service diving team conducted a detailed survey of 6,000 square meters of the riverbed. Departmental psychologists were also on site, providing emergency psychological assistance and support to nine family members and close relatives of the deceased young man. Law enforcement officials are currently determining the final circumstances and causes of this tragic incident.

We would also like to remind you that another body was found in the Tisa River in Zakarpattia Oblast. The deceased was identified as a middle-aged man, but no identification documents were found on him.
