A shooting broke out in Rivne Oblast following a fight; two men are in the hospital
In the Rivne region, in the village of Vitkovychi in the Rivne district, law enforcement officers detained a 32-year-old local resident who opened fire near a café following a dispute. As a result of the shooting, two men sustained gunshot wounds and were hospitalized. Police quickly apprehended the suspect. Law enforcement is currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident and determining the legal classification of the event.

The incident occurred on the night of May 10 in the village of Vitkovychi.
How the shooting
occurred According to police, a conflict arose among a group of men, which escalated into a fight.
Afterward, a 32-year-old local resident went home, took a hunting rifle, and returned to the café.
During the altercation, the man sustained injuries to his body and head.
He then retrieved a weapon from his car, fired two shots into the air, and then opened fire on a 27-year-old fellow villager and a 51-year-old local resident.
What is known
: As a result of the shooting, both men sustained gunshot wounds to their thighs and were hospitalized.
Police recovered shell casings, a registered shotgun, and other physical evidence.
After the altercation, the shooter’s condition deteriorated, so he was also hospitalized.
Law enforcement officers detained the man and provided round-the-clock security at the medical facility.
Investigators informed him that he is suspected of violating Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism involving the use of a firearm.
The issue of selecting a preventive measure is currently being decided.
