In the Rivne region, border guards dismantled a human trafficking ring targeting men
In the Rivne region, law enforcement officials uncovered and dismantled an organized criminal group that specialized in illegally smuggling men subject to military conscription into European Union countries.
The perpetrators attempted to transport their clients across the state border on motorcycles, bypassing official checkpoints.
The organizers of the illegal scheme turned out to be local residents of Rivne Oblast. The suspects found two individuals who planned to leave Ukraine illegally and promised to take them directly to the state border.
The traffickers priced their illegal services at $10,000 per client.
To ensure maximum maneuverability and successfully bypass checkpoints, the organizers decided to transport the men on motorcycles.
While attempting to pick up the passengers at a designated location near a border town, one of the suspects was detained by law enforcement officers.
During urgent investigative actions conducted directly at the scene, cash, mobile phones, and vehicles were seized.
The detainee has already been officially charged with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
