The Skelya Regiment has temporarily suspended recruitment of new soldiers amid inspections by the General Staff
Recruitment for the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya” has been temporarily suspended. This is due to an audit being conducted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the staffing of military units and the fairness of the distribution of service members.
According to Bratushchak, the unit views the General Staff’s initiative positively and is ready to cooperate with its implementation.
“We understand why this happened. The General Staff has launched an audit of the staffing of military units and the fairness of personnel distribution across the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a whole. We welcome this initiative and are ready, for our part, to provide comprehensive assistance and respond to the challenges facing the military at this stage,” the regiment stated.
The unit noted that the 425th Separate Assault Regiment is a participant in the drone-assault unit program.
As of the end of July, “Skelya” ranks among the top twenty units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in terms of the number of targets destroyed using unmanned systems.
The regiment also noted that it is actively implementing modern technologies and innovative approaches to conducting assault operations, which reduces the need for personnel and minimizes risks to service members.
The unit’s further development is linked to expanding its capabilities for deep reconnaissance and striking Russian forces in the rear.
Earlier, “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing sources in four assault regiments, reported that as of July 26, the Army’s assault units had temporarily suspended the transfer of personnel from reserve battalions and territorial recruitment centers.
According to the publication, the transfer of service members from other units to assault regiments has also been suspended.
This was reported by Oleksiy Bratushchak, head of the communications department of the 425th Assault Regiment “Skelya.”
On July 30, the Fortetskyi District Court of Kropyvnytskyi imposed pretrial measures on two servicemen from the “Skelya” regiment who are suspected of unlawfully detaining and beating their comrades. Both were remanded in custody for 60 days without the right to post bail.
The command of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya” stated that it is cooperating with the State Bureau of Investigations and supports the investigation into possible violations. The unit noted that it does not deny the existence of certain problems and is committed to addressing these issues.
The State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) has charged two soldiers from the “Skelya” regiment with torturing their comrades.
As a reminder, Lubinets stated that the investigation into the “Skelya” regiment is still ongoing, but a case has already been opened.
