In the Rivne region, a gunman opened fire on military personnel and police
In the Rivne region, a man opened fire on members of a rapid response unit and a police officer, injuring two people. The incident occurred during a routine document check—the suspect, armed with an automatic weapon, fled the scene and is currently being sought by authorities.
This was reported by the Rivne region police.
The incident occurred on April 29 at around 5:00 p.m. in the village of Verba, Dubno District. Military personnel, along with a community police officer, noticed a man walking with a bicycle in his hands.
As they approached to check his documents, he opened fire with an automatic weapon at the law enforcement officers and soldiers. As a result of the shooting, one soldier and one police officer were wounded.
A criminal investigation has been opened into the attack under the article on attempted murder. Regional police leadership announced a special police operation. Law enforcement has identified the attacker and is searching for him.



According to the description provided, the man is 48 years old, of slender build, approximately 170 cm tall, with short, graying hair. During the attack, he was wearing camouflage clothing.
Earlier, the SBU detained an enemy agent in Donetsk Oblast who was coordinating shelling of Kramatorsk.
The SBU detained teenagers whom Russia had recruited to carry out terrorist attacks in schools.
The SBU also detained a Russian agent who was directing airstrikes on Sloviansk.
