A woman who tried to sell her six-year-old son will stand trial in Volyn
In Volyn, an indictment has been filed against a 38-year-old woman accused of attempting to sell her own six-year-old son for $25,000.
According to the investigation, after her divorce, the woman lived with her youngest son, while her two older children remained with their father. Law enforcement officials claim that she decided to get rid of the boy and arranged to sell him without going through any legal adoption procedures or paperwork.
The buyer, who was offered the child for sale, contacted law enforcement. The handover of the boy took place in April in Lutsk under the supervision of law enforcement agencies. Immediately after receiving the money, the woman was detained.
She is charged with human trafficking involving a minor. She is currently in custody.
Following his mother’s arrest, the six-year-old boy remained in his father’s care.
