In Volyn, a woman tried to arrange a fraudulent disability designation for her husband in exchange for a bribe
In Volyn, law enforcement officers detained a 42-year-old resident of the Olytska community in the Lutsk district who, in exchange for $10,000, promised to help arrange a fraudulent disability classification. According to the investigation, the woman colluded with doctors to issue false diagnoses for her “clients.”
Operatives from the Volyn Border Guard Detachment documented the attempt to obtain an unlawful benefit.
According to law enforcement officials, the 42-year-old Volyn resident, in exchange for a monetary reward of $10,000, had arranged with medical staff at one of the region’s healthcare facilities to issue a fictitious diagnosis, which was to serve as the basis for obtaining a disability classification.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the residences of those involved in the scheme.
During the search, they seized a BMW X5, cell phones, and a laptop, as well as documentation related to medical activities.
Among the items seized were CT scan logs, medical records, and a significant amount of cash.
Specifically, law enforcement officials discovered:
$10,870, 1,300 euros, 350 zlotys, and nearly 87,000 hryvnias.
The woman from Volyn was notified of her status as a suspect under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court imposed house arrest as a preventive measure.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Kovel District Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Volyn Oblast and the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine in the region.
The Kovel District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the criminal proceedings.
At the same time, in accordance with the presumption of innocence, the suspect’s guilt must be proven in accordance with the procedure established by law and confirmed by a court ruling.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine detained Olga Tsanko, a teacher at the Svalyava Technical Vocational College, while she was receiving a bribe; she had organized a scheme to falsely enroll men in full-time study programs. In exchange for granting deferments from mobilization, the suspect demanded $700 from each person subject to military service.
A resident of the Zhmerynka District in Vinnytsia Oblast was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison for organizing a sham marriage with a man subject to military conscription. The woman received $15,000 for her services.
