MP Koryavchenko has left for Spain amid a NABU investigation

MP Koryavchenko has left for Spain amid a NABU investigation

Yuriy Koryavchenkov, a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction, known by his stage name “Yuzik,” has left the country and is currently on the Costa Brava in Spain.

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

According to law enforcement agencies, his departure coincided with the intensification of an investigation into the payment of unofficial salaries in envelopes to representatives of the presidential majority.

Over the past year, there has been increasing discussion in political circles about the fatigue and reluctance of ruling party lawmakers to work.

Last December, the situation escalated after the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) exposed a scheme through which lawmakers could receive additional illegal payments.

The investigation suggests that the money was distributed in the office of influential MP Yuriy Kisel, a businessman close to the president.

Currently, four representatives of the “Servant of the People” party have already been named as suspects in this case.

Yuriy Koryavchenkov became the fifth person implicated, but according to sources at Ukrayinska Pravda, he managed to leave Ukraine on the eve of the service of legal documents.

Journalists have confirmed that the former actor from the “Kvartal 95” studio chose to stay in a picturesque region of Spain instead of his majority district in Kryvyi Rih.

According to the politician’s electronic declaration, his family has been living on the Spanish coast since the start of the full-scale invasion.

An analysis of the deputy’s social media activity indicates that he participates in parliamentary committee meetings primarily online.

Colleagues and constituents have noticed that during these online appearances, Koryavchenko usually has a distinct tan on his face.

Sources in law enforcement claim that the MP was recently officially summoned for questioning by the NABU specifically regarding the “envelopes for public servants” case.

Meanwhile, the Koryavchenkov family’s Spanish neighbors report that they have been very active in the real estate market.

According to them, the lawmaker’s family has recently been “actively communicating with local real estate agents,” which may indicate intentions for a long-term stay outside their homeland.

As a reminder, a group of MPs has been charged with vote-buying in the Rada.

Additionally, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed preventive measures on five MPs in the case involving paid votes in the Rada.
