The National Police have uncovered schemes to evade mobilization in three regions

The National Police of Ukraine carried out a large-scale operation during which it simultaneously dismantled several corruption networks in various regions of the country.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

Five suspects, including university officials and residents of the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, attempted to enrich themselves by illegally helping others evade mobilization.

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers documented the criminal activities of employees at one of the local higher education institutions.

A specialist from the operations and technical department and an assistant to the first vice-rector set up a scheme to trade positions that required state-mandated reservations.

For fictitious employment as an administrator of a university cafeteria, the conspirators demanded $6,000.

This status was supposed to guarantee the client full protection from conscription for the duration of the mobilization measures, but the operation ended with the officials’ arrest.

Meanwhile, in the Kyiv region, police prevented a similar scheme organized by a 33-year-old local resident.

He promised an acquaintance to help secure a position that would provide an 11-month deferment from military service, valuing his intermediary services at $2,000.

Another case was recorded in the Khmelnytskyi region, where a native of the Zhytomyr region, along with an accomplice, attempted to sell influence over officials at a regional recruitment center.

They assured clients that they had “reliable connections” capable of altering data in government registries.

The perpetrators promised to remove a conscript from the “wanted list” in the “Oberig” information system for $2,500.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that such promises are often part of fraudulent schemes, as interference with government databases is strictly controlled.

All participants in the criminal schemes were detained directly during the transfer of funds or the preparation of documents.

Police are continuing investigations into the involvement of other officials in the activities of the exposed “middlemen.”
