The Netherlands is investing 248 million euros in the production of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Dutch government is allocating an additional aid package worth 248 million euros to provide the Ukrainian army with modern drones. The announcement was made by the country’s defense minister, Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, at the latest meeting of the “Ramstein” format.
This was reported by “European Truth.”
The project involves the joint production of UAVs at facilities in both countries. The minister emphasized that this format of cooperation is mutually beneficial: Ukraine receives the necessary weapons, while Dutch specialists refine their own technologies by analyzing real-world experience of using the equipment in conditions of intense combat operations.
For Amsterdam, the development of unmanned technologies remains one of the main areas of support for Kyiv. Previously, the Netherlands had already joined the large-scale “Drone Line” program, which allowed for the delivery of a significant number of various types of drones to the front lines.
Despite the international community’s shifting focus on events in the Middle East, the Dutch government emphasizes that its priorities remain unchanged. Defense officials are convinced that stability in Europe directly depends on the outcome of the war in Ukraine, so military aid will remain consistent and long-term.
Meanwhile, Germany is enhancing Ukraine’s long-range capabilities through joint drone production.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed Rome’s interest in developing joint defense production with Ukraine. Unmanned aerial vehicles are set to become the main focus of this cooperation.
