New contracts and salaries for military personnel: the government is preparing changes as early as this year
Ukraine plans to introduce a new contract system for military personnel, which will provide for varying salary levels depending on rank and duties performed.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the Ministry of Defense is currently conducting an audit of the military pay system and is working on an updated model for contract service.
The plan involves introducing a differentiated pay system, where the salary amount will depend on the soldier’s duties, responsibilities, and role.
“These contracts will allow for differentiated pay depending on the position and duties performed by the service member,” Svyrydenko noted.
Details of the new contracts are expected to be presented in the coming weeks following discussions with lawmakers.
Earlier, during the mop-up operation in the village of Ternuvate in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed a ground-based robotic system that helped capture Russian soldiers.
Soldiers from the 3rd Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade shared a story from the Kharkiv region, where Russian soldiers, after surrendering, were eliminated by drone strikes carried out by their own forces.
