Former Minister Galushchenko May Be Returned to Pretrial Detention After 150 million hryvnia in bail Is Seized
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to freeze 150 million hryvnias posted as bail for former Minister of Energy and Justice Herman Halushchenko. Investigators believe these funds are of criminal origin and were laundered through the bail payment, and are therefore requesting that they be transferred to the Agency for the Recovery and Management of Assets (ARMA).
If the High Anti-Corruption Court grants the prosecutor’s office’s motion, the money will be transferred to the account of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency. In that case, Halushchenko will be considered to have failed to post bail, which will mean his return to pretrial detention.
SAP Head Oleksandr Klymenko expressed hope that the former government official will not attempt to leave the country. Currently, the suspect is subject to procedural obligations, and the border service has been informed of the travel ban against him.

As a reminder, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is investigating banks in connection with the collateral provided for Galushchenko.
According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, during the hearing of the case against Sense Bank Chairman Oleksiy Stupak, prosecutors also disclosed a series of conversations which, according to the investigation, confirm the origin of these funds.
