Onistrat announced his resignation from the Armed Forces of Ukraine following his transfer to another position

Andriy Onistrat, an officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a banker, announced that he had submitted his resignation from the military. According to him, the reason was his transfer to a position he described as a “paper-pushing job,” as well as a possible connection between this decision and his public statements. Onistrat speculated that his support for former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and his stance on the “Vyrij” project may have influenced the situation.

In a comment to “Ukrainska Pravda,” Andriy Onistrat said he had received a copy of the order transferring him to the 17th Corps to serve as chief paper-pusher. Following this, the officer stated that he had decided to resign from service. “Well, I’m writing a report to resign from the Armed Forces of Ukraine! I think this is because of my support for ‘Vyrij.’ Perhaps it’s because of my posts supporting Fedorov. Or maybe it’s both,” Onistrat wrote on social media.

At the same time, he did not provide any evidence that these specific reasons were the basis for his transfer. Andriy Onistrat is a captain in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the founder of the “Dovbush’s Hornets” drone battalion, part of the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked in the banking sector and served as chairman of the supervisory board of “Bank National Credit.”

During the war, Onistrat lost his son. His son was killed in 2023 during combat operations near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. The soldier is also the father of six children. Recently, Onistrat’s name has also been mentioned in connection with an investigation by the State Bureau of Investigations. On July 7, it was reported that the SBI is investigating the possible misappropriation of budget funds during the procurement of drones for Ukraine’s security and defense sector, amounting to nearly 7 billion hryvnias.

The case involves the company VYRIY INDUSTRIES. Onistrat himself had previously stated his involvement in the development of this sector and supported the production of Ukrainian drones. In addition to his military service and business ventures, Onistrat also worked in the media. He hosted the reality show “Onistrat Decides,” dedicated to exposing fraudulent schemes. The show ran for one season. Currently, there is no official information from the Ukrainian Armed Forces command regarding the reasons for Andriy Onistrat’s reassignment or his future status in the military. Andriy Onistrat announced this on Facebook.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is reportedly considering replacing the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing a senior official in the Office of the President whose name has not been disclosed.
