Vladimir Kononnikov, commander of the 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade, who was found dead in the Zaporizhzhia region, had sent voice messages to his family and colleagues shortly before his death.
According to the publication, the officer’s personal pistol was found next to his body. Sources also claim that Kononnikov smoked a cigarette before his death.
The day before, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense reported that the soldier’s body had been found with a gunshot wound to the temple. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office noted that the forensic medical examination is still ongoing, and final conclusions regarding the location of the wound will be determined during the investigation.
