Five members of parliament are willing to vouch for Tishchenko

Five members of parliament have declared their willingness to vouch for Mykola Tyshchenko, who is accused of extorting illegal benefits, money laundering, and providing false information in his financial disclosure statement.

The investigating judge read out the corresponding motion during a hearing at the High Anti-Corruption Court. Among the lawmakers who expressed their willingness to vouch for Tyshchenko are Yevhen Yakovenko, Oleg Voronko, Vasyl Nimchenko, Heorhiy Mazurashu, and Valerii Gnatenko.

Oleg Voronko stated that he is in constant professional contact with Tishchenko and is ready to guarantee to the court that Tishchenko will fulfill all procedural obligations, will not evade the investigation, and will appear whenever summoned.

Tishchenko himself once again rejected the charges during the hearing. He claimed that the evidence in the case was allegedly obtained illegally and fabricated, and asserted that the criminal proceedings are based on testimony from representatives of the “Khimprom” group. In addition, the MP stated that the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) had previously reviewed his financial disclosures and found no evidence of illicit enrichment.

As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) had previously imposed a preventive measure on Tishchenko in the form of a 10 million hryvnia bail, along with a number of procedural obligations.

MP Mykola Tyshchenko appeared in the Verkhovna Rada after his pretrial measure was eased. He is accused of unlawfully depriving a person of their liberty.

In October, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court held a hearing in the case of MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko. They are accused of the unlawful deprivation of liberty of Dmytro Mazokha, a former member of the “Kraken” special forces unit.
