A ministry may have been specifically created for former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov
Ukraine’s Ministry of National Unity, established on December 3, 2024, through the reorganization of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, may have been created specifically for Oleksii Chernyshov.
This opinion is being circulated on Telegram channels.
“To help you understand how things work, the position of Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Unity was simply handed to him. Once again — Volodymyr Zelenskyy simply gave him the position, for which the ministry had been specially created in advance. The families of Zelenskyy and Chernyshov are extremely close — so much so that Olena Zelenska even served as a godmother for someone in the Chernyshov family. That is, they are compadres. This is a real example of nepotism,” the post states.

It should be recalled that on November 12, 2025, former head of Naftogaz and Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov visited the building of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In controversial NABU recordings, businessman Timur Mindich allegedly discussed the construction of mansions with Chernyshov in Kozyn.
Earlier, Chernyshov, who is under suspicion of abuse of office and receiving unlawful benefits, commented on his contacts with businessman Timur Mindich and former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.
Chernyshov confirmed that in 2021 he attended Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s birthday celebration at Mindich’s apartment on Hrushevskoho Street, 9A. He described the relationship between the president and the businessman as a “corporate partnership.” At the same time, Chernyshov denied rumors that Zelenskyy is his child’s godfather, clarifying that he considers Yermak to be the godfather of his children.
The High Anti-Corruption Court extended until June 8, 2026, the procedural obligations imposed on former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov, who is a figure in anti-corruption investigations by NABU and SAPO. These include a number of restrictions that remain in force as part of the pre-trial investigation.
