Bilous, the suspect in the rape case, is writing a book about his story
Andriy Bilous, who is a suspect in a case involving sexual assault against female students, announced that he is writing a book in which he plans to present his own account of the events. He also maintained his innocence regarding the charges brought against him.
According to the report, the former director of the Molodyi Theater and a professor at the Karpenko-Kary University is currently in custody. In his statements, he spoke about his personal state of mind and thoughts regarding the case.
The investigation into the circumstances of the incidents is ongoing; official authorities have not released additional details regarding the content of the upcoming book.
Andriy Bilous plans to publish excerpts from his autobiographical investigative book “Zaklyakli” on a new page, which he is writing while behind bars. In this book, he will discuss what he is permitted to disclose until the conclusion of the trial.
“For now, there will be no names, no specifics, no details. There will be no poetry, no artistic imagery, no descriptions of events. There will be no memories, no intimate scenes—all of this will appear uncensored in the printed version of the book. For now, this will be just a dry investigation into how I was imprisoned. An exposé of the scheme. The book is being written in a place devoid of tolerance. In a very difficult psychological state. This leaves its mark on the writing style. An excerpt from the first chapter, “The Politics of Feminism,” will be published tomorrow. For now, I still want to say a few words that I cannot help but say,” Bilous wrote.

The professor admitted that he is experiencing shock and a “psychological catastrophe” because, in his words, he is not guilty of what he is accused of. “You are living a nightmare. A terrible dream. When you wake up every morning, you realize it’s not a dream. But still, you keep trying to wake up, to find yourself back in that life where none of this exists. In that life where you’re a successful director, the head of the best theater, a beloved teacher, a father, a friend. Where you’re respected and valued. But the dream doesn’t end. This nightmare has been going on for a year and a half,” says the former director of the Molodyi Theater.
According to Bilous, he has lost his entire life, including his reputation, his name, and his friends. “They took everything from me. My job, my creativity, my income. I’ve lost my reputation, my name, my friends. Any prospect of a future. They’ve destroyed me,” he asserts.

The director also admitted to having suicidal thoughts while in pretrial detention: “Every morning when I wake up, I stare for a long time at the convenient hook above my head in the cell. I start the day by convincing myself to live. When you’ve committed a crime, you know you’re a criminal, and you’re ready. I wasn’t ready for everything that’s happening to me now.”

Andriy Bilous also admitted that he cannot accept what his friends and colleagues are saying about him. It is incomprehensible to the director that people wish him dead.
“I can’t believe my own ears when I listen to the audio recordings in the case files, where my favorite actress calls me a serial maniac and demands that I be immediately locked up in a mental hospital, while another, no less beloved, dreams of a suicide bomber flying into my home, where my entire family lives…” he wrote.

At the same time, Andriy Bilous calls the accusations against him a myth and a fabrication. He also assured that he did not commit any violence against the students, because that would require hatred.
“Are you human? Even if I had killed, dismembered, and eaten someone, then let me be the maniac—why would you wish death upon a person who made you who you are, and whose guilt has not been proven?! My guilt is a myth! A fabrication! No one knows better than you that there was never any violence; for there to be violence, hatred is required. “Violence is what you’ve been doing to me for the past year and a half,” Bilous concluded.
The director shared this on his new Facebook page.
The court extended the detention of director Andriy Bilous.
Earlier, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko commented on the case involving allegations against Andriy Bilous, the former director of the Molodyi Theater and a lecturer at the Ivan Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University. The allegations involve abuse of power, sexual harassment, and violence against female students at the institution.
On October 22, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv imposed a preventive measure on Andriy Bilous, the former director of the Molodyi Theater, who is accused of years of sexual harassment of female students and theater employees. The court ruled to keep Bilous in custody.
