About 100 bills related to European integration have piled up in the Rada — Kachka
About 100 bills necessary for Ukraine’s further progress toward European Union membership are currently registered with the Verkhovna Rada. All of them are awaiting parliamentary consideration.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka during the conference “Europe–Poland–Ukraine: Cooperate Together’26.”
According to him, Ukraine was technically ready to open the first negotiation chapters on EU accession about a year and a half ago, and the main obstacle remained the political decision of the EU member states.
Kachka emphasized that there are currently no obstacles to opening the first and subsequent negotiation clusters. He also noted that once negotiations officially begin, the pace of the government’s and parliament’s work on European integration reforms could accelerate significantly.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the EU accession process requires not only legislative changes but also deeper integration of Ukrainian business with the European market. He cited the agro-industrial sector and metallurgy as among the most challenging areas of future negotiations.
