The suspect in the murder of Andriy Portnov was extradited from Germany to Spain
Germany has extradited 45-year-old Ukrainian citizen Oleksandr Azizov to Spain; he is suspected of murdering Andriy Portnov.
According to Spanish police, the man was arrested on February 25, 2026, in Germany and has now been flown to Spain under the escort of Spanish law enforcement officers.
The suspect’s attorney confirmed the extradition and stated that his client denies any involvement in the crime. According to the defense attorney, the charges are based primarily on circumstantial evidence, including data regarding a car, a phone, and geolocation, while there is no physical evidence directly linking the man to the crime scene or the weapon.
It is also reported that investigators are searching for two other alleged accomplices—the suspect’s brother and an acquaintance. According to law enforcement, it was these individuals who may have helped the perpetrator flee the crime scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
