Defense industry companies have been given until August 10 to confirm their critical status

UA NEWS 03 August 2026 17:25
Defense industry companies have been given until August 10 to confirm their critical status

The Ministry of Defense has begun reviewing the status of critically important enterprises in the defense-industrial complex, which is necessary for exempting employees subject to military service.

Enterprises that received this status by decision of the Ministry of Defense by July 7, 2026, must submit documents to confirm it by August 10

A simplified procedure is in place for most companies, while those that received this status through the BRAVE1 grant program must undergo a full re-certification process.

The Ministry of Defense has warned that companies that do not submit the required documents on time will lose their “critically important” status as of September 1, and with it, the right to reserve employees.

Documents may be submitted electronically or in paper form.

In Ukraine, companies with “critically important” status have been given a clear deadline for recertification—they must complete the process by September 1. The government explains that the procedure is routine and has already been tested, so it should proceed without complications. After that, the status will be reviewed every year and a half.

Ukraine has launched a new phase of its support program for industrial parks that have been damaged by Russian shelling. The government is allocating tens of millions of hryvnias for infrastructure restoration and production development.
