New car sales in Ukraine fell by more than 10%
In July 2026, the Ukrainian market for new passenger cars contracted by 10.5% compared to the same period last year. Ukrainians purchased 5,754 new cars that month.
Despite the overall decline in sales, Toyota remains the most popular car brand in Ukraine.
In July, dealers sold 986 new cars, which is 20% more than during the same period in 2025.
The top ten most popular brands included:
- Toyota — 986 cars (+20%);
- Skoda — 693 (+24%);
- Volkswagen — 444 (-10%);
- Renault — 345 (-47%);
- BMW — 308 (+17%);
- Hyundai — 298 (no change);
- Mazda — 259 (+66%);
- BYD — 229 (-69%);
- Suzuki — 194 (+39%);
- Audi — 156 (-38%).
At the end of the month, the Toyota RAV4 crossover was the most in-demand new car, becoming the leader of the Ukrainian market.
In total, nearly 38,800 new passenger cars were sold in Ukraine from January through July 2026.
This is 1% less than during the same period in 2025, indicating a relatively stable market situation despite the decline in July sales.

In July, the cost of operating diesel cars rose the most in Ukraine. The cost of driving 100 km per month rose by 66 UAH to 489 UAH. At the same time, gasoline-powered cars remain the most expensive mode of transportation in terms of operating costs, while electric vehicles charged at home are the most economical.
As a reminder, as of July 30, Ukraine’s largest gas station chains updated their fuel prices. Compared to the previous day, gasoline, diesel, and autogas prices rose at a number of chains.
