While attempting to breach the state border, two men attacked a border guard, according to the State Border Guard Service.
“Residents of the Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions planned to illegally enter Moldova by breaking through engineering barriers in a car. Border guards from the Mohyliv-Podilskyi Detachment spotted their Volkswagen as it approached the border zone,” the statement reads.
According to available information, the driver did not respond to the lawful order to stop; instead, he accelerated and attempted to evade pursuit. Subsequently, the men abandoned the car in the forest and tried to flee on foot.
"During their arrest, they resisted and inflicted bodily injuries on a border guard. The violators have been held administratively liable and notified of the charges against them," the post states.
