Following Russia's attack on Ukraine's energy sector, Ukrenergo urged the public to conserve electricity
Russian occupiers launched a massive drone attack on energy facilities in southern Ukraine this morning.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
As a result of enemy strikes, damage to power grids was recorded, leading to partial power outages for consumers in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
Cleanup efforts are currently underway, and specialists are preparing to carry out restoration work.
The national energy company Ukrenergo has appealed to residents of these regions with an urgent request to demonstrate awareness and solidarity.
Despite the damage, some customers still have power, but the stability of the system now depends on every consumer.
Energy officials are urging people to minimize the load on the grid to avoid large-scale emergency blackouts.
“If you currently have electricity in these regions, please use it sparingly,” Ukrenergo officially emphasized.
Conserving resources will allow energy providers to redistribute power more quickly and restore service to customers who have been left without power as a result of the enemy’s terrorist actions.
As a reminder, Ukrenergo does not forecast power outages on April 16
Over the past week, Ukrainian energy companies have restored power to over 453,000 households that were left without electricity due to shelling. The most restorations took place in the Donetsk and Odesa regions.
On April 13, energy consumption restrictions for industry were introduced throughout Ukraine.
