Weather in Ukraine on May 21: thunderstorms, downpours, hail, and squalls are expected to affect most regions
On Wednesday, May 21, Ukraine is again expected to experience unsettled weather with rain and thunderstorms. In some regions, forecasters predict heavy downpours, hail, and gusty winds of up to 20 m/s.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, an atmospheric front has already brought precipitation to the western, southern, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions overnight.
During the day, rain will spread to most of Ukraine, with the exception of the northeast. Forecasters warn of brief thunderstorms, and in the central and southern regions, significant precipitation is possible in some areas.
Additionally, in the southwestern regions, hail and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s are forecast, which could complicate road conditions and cause localized damage.
Despite the rainy weather, Ukraine will remain fairly warm. Overnight, temperatures will range from 12°F to 17°F, and in the western regions, from 8°F to 13°F.
During the day, temperatures will range from +23 to +28 degrees, and in some eastern regions, they will rise to +31 degrees. In the west of the country, it will be slightly cooler—+18 to +23 degrees.
The wind will be predominantly northeasterly, with speeds of 5–10 m/s.
In Kyiv, short-lived rain and thunderstorms are also forecast for May 21. The daytime temperature in the capital will rise to +26 degrees.

Forecasters are urging Ukrainians to be cautious due to deteriorating weather conditions, especially during thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail.
