Polyakova Will Sue Yanina Sokolova Over Criticism
Olya Polyakova stated that she plans to file a lawsuit against journalist Yanina Sokolova following her criticism of the singer.
The conflict arose after Polyakova’s controversial interview, in which she compared Ukraine to a concentration camp and spoke out about mobilization. Following this, Sokolova sharply criticized the artist, specifically reminding her of her performances and trips to Russia prior to the start of the full-scale invasion.
Polyakova stated that she considers criticism normal but does not agree with the dissemination of what she claims is false information about her. The singer emphasized that she intends to defend her honor, dignity, and professional reputation in court.
According to Polyakova, the lawsuit will be filed not only against Sokolova. She also stated that she has no political ambitions and will continue to pursue a career in music.
Sokolova, for her part, accused Polyakova of playing into Russian propaganda and pointed out her performances in Russia after 2014. The journalist also directed insulting remarks at the singer.
