More than 800,000 Ukrainians work for sole proprietors
Last year, 302,260 sole proprietors provided jobs for more than 817,000 Ukrainians. On average, each entrepreneur with employees has about three staff members.
Overall, only 14% of sole proprietors have employees, yet they are the ones creating a significant number of jobs.

The largest number of sole proprietors with employees is registered in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast—27,491. Lviv Oblast is close behind with 27,275 entrepreneurs. Kyiv ranks third with 25,782 sole proprietors.
At the same time, the largest increase in the number of entrepreneurs with employees was recorded in Rivne (+22%), Kyiv (+20%), Volyn (+19%), Chernivtsi (+18%), and Ivano-Frankivsk (+16%) regions.
The highest number of employees working for sole proprietors was recorded in Lviv Oblast—74,648 people. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast follows with 71,983 employees, and Kyiv with 70,272 employees working for sole proprietors.
Overall, thanks to sole proprietorships, over 2.9 million Ukrainians had jobs last year: 2.1 million are self-employed, and over 817,000 are employees.
