The EU Ambassador to Ukraine found a piece of an enemy drone while out for a walk

The EU Ambassador to Ukraine found a piece of an enemy drone while out for a walk

Katarina Mathernova, the European Union’s Ambassador to Ukraine, discovered the remains of a downed Russian drone in a forested area in the Kyiv region.

The diplomat stumbled upon fragments of the deadly weapon during a routine walk.

An examination of the find confirmed that the metal parts among the trees are components of a strike UAV, likely of the “Shahed” type.

This aircraft was successfully neutralized by Ukraine’s air defense forces during one of the recent massive attacks by the Russian Federation.

“I love the woods. I’m used to finding mushrooms or the first spring flowers there. This time I found a large piece of a Shahed drone! This is how war is changing the country. This is the reality of Ukraine today,” the ambassador shared her impressions on social media.

The diplomat emphasized that such drones are designed by the aggressor solely as a means to destroy living targets.

According to her, the enemy uses accessible yet durable technologies for the mass production of cheap weapons capable of inflicting serious damage on civilian infrastructure.

“These drones are designed to kill. Built from simple but durable materials (such as Kevlar) and widely available components, they are cheap, mass-produced, and used in large numbers,” Katarina Maternová emphasized.

As a reminder, Russian drones have again attacked Naftogaz facilities in the Poltava region.

Russian troops also attacked the Chernihiv region with FPV drones.
