A prosecutor from the Chernihiv region was disciplined for losing evidence in a land case

The Qualification and Disciplinary Commission for Prosecutors held Anton Dudka, a prosecutor with the Koryukivka District Prosecutor’s Office in Chernihiv Oblast, accountable for improper handling of evidence in criminal proceedings concerning the unlawful appropriation of land plots.

The Commission determined that, while overseeing the proceedings in a case involving fraudulent land acquisition, the prosecutor engaged in conduct deemed to bring the office of prosecutor into disrepute.

In particular, during forensic examinations, it was discovered that the boxes contained newspapers, magazines, and drafts instead of the investigation materials. Additionally, some of the documents obtained during temporary access to notaries’ offices were lost or replaced.

Based on the results of the disciplinary proceedings, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission for Prosecutors (KDKP) decided to impose a penalty on Dudka. The prosecutor himself denied any wrongdoing and claimed that after transferring the materials to other agencies, he had no control over their subsequent movement.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Absolution Leaks.

The prosecutor from Lviv Oblast was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Lieutenant General Curtis Bazzard of the U.S. Armed Forces, commander of the NATO Special Mission for Security Assistance and Training in Ukraine and the Ukraine Security Assistance Group.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 472 military personnel, police officers, rescue workers, and border guards with state awards, 172 of whom were awarded posthumously.
