The Rada will consider critical bills regarding funding from the EU and the IMF on April 7–8

Parliament has set aside two days to vote on the bills required to receive tranches under the Ukraine Facility program, the IMF, and the World Bank.

This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

According to Andriy Motovylovets, deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, the budget situation is critical, and the total amount of unfulfilled obligations to partners amounts to nearly €7.4 billion. Due to the priority of financial issues, even the consideration of military laws has been postponed to Thursday, April 9.

All bills that have already passed the first reading and are ready for final adoption will be put to a vote. Motovylovets emphasized that the absence of these decisions jeopardizes further funding, without which budget stability would be at risk. At the same time, active consultations with European Union representatives are still ongoing regarding a number of legislative initiatives.

Despite the complexity of the negotiations, the government currently does not plan to bring the controversial bill on introducing VAT for individual entrepreneurs to the floor. In early April, lawmakers will focus primarily on implementing the already agreed-upon structural benchmarks of international aid programs.

The European Commission has proposed an alternative path for Ukraine to secure funding amid Hungary’s blocking of the main aid package. A letter from European Commissioner Marta Kos to Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk outlines a list of 11 laws, the adoption of which would allow Ukraine to attract up to €4 billion.
