Russia has attacked energy facilities in six regions of Ukraine: rolling blackouts have been implemented
On the morning of March 25, massive strikes by Russian occupation forces on critical infrastructure caused serious disruptions to Ukraine’s power grid.
Due to damage to power generation and distribution facilities, some consumers in the Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions were left without power.
According to official information from the Ministry of Energy, enemy attacks led to localized power outages in a number of regions.
Currently, emergency crews and technical specialists are working around the clock in an intensified mode, attempting to stabilize the grid and restore power to Ukrainian households.
A tragic incident was reported at one of Khmelnytskooblenergo’s facilities, which was targeted in another round of shelling.
As a result of the explosion, one of the company’s employees was injured—medical personnel are currently providing him with all necessary care, and his life is not in danger.
The most critical situation is currently observed in the Chernihiv region, which has suffered from a series of repeated strikes.
Due to significant damage to equipment, power companies were forced to implement hourly power outage schedules to stabilize the system.
“The restrictions will remain in effect until the power grid’s operation is stabilized,” the agency emphasized.
Residents of the region are asked to be understanding of these necessary measures, as repeated shelling significantly complicates restoration efforts.
The Ministry of Energy notes that the enemy is deliberately targeting key substations in an attempt to cause cascading blackouts across the country.
However, thanks to the coordinated efforts of dispatchers, large-scale blackouts are being avoided and the integrity of the power grid is being maintained.
Energy officials have once again appealed to citizens to conserve electricity as much as possible.
It is especially important to reduce the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak hours—from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
As a reminder, consumers with distributed generation will not have their power cut off.
Additionally, the Russians attacked power facilities in Slavutych and cut off power to the entire city.
