The SBU has charged FSB officers with torture in the Luhansk region
The Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General have formally charged, in absentia, two FSB officers implicated in the torture of civilians in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.
This was reported by the SBU.
The individuals in question are Valery Kravchenko and Dmitry Kirdyeyev, who, following the occupation of the region in 2014, joined the Russia-controlled pseudo-agency “MDB LNR.” After the start of full-scale war, they participated in raids against members of the resistance movement.
According to the investigation, during such raids, the suspects, together with their accomplices, abducted people from their homes, looted their property, and transported them to torture chambers.
There, the detainees were brutally tortured: beaten with rifle butts and batons, had bags placed over their heads, and were subjected to electric shocks in an attempt to extract confessions of collaboration with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Currently, both suspects have been “transferred” to the FSB’s occupation administration in the LNR, where they continue to repress local residents.
They are charged with war crimes committed by a group of individuals acting in concert. The case materials have already been submitted to the court, and the suspects have been placed on the wanted list.
The SBU also detained a Russian agent who guided airstrikes on Sloviansk.
As a reminder, the SBU has referred the case regarding the murder of Andriy Parubiy to court.
