The SBU exposed Russian agents who were directing Russian strikes on Dnipro
The SBU’s Counterintelligence Directorate detained two more members of an FSB agent network that was gathering intelligence to plan and adjust Russian strikes on Dnipro. They turned out to be the mother and brother of a Russian female agent whom the Ukrainian security service had exposed in June 2026.
According to the investigation, it was the previously detained Russian agent who recruited her relatives to collaborate with the FSB.
They helped her gather information on the locations and technical condition of defense facilities that Russian troops planned to attack.
To do this, the suspects surveyed the perimeters of restricted-access facilities and marked the geolocations of production facilities and logistics warehouses on Google Maps.
In addition, they gathered information about the locations and consequences of Russian strikes on Dnipro. This data could have been used to prepare new attacks or adjust subsequent shelling of the city.
“After the suspect was exposed, her mother and brother initially ‘lay low,’ but later contacted their handler in Russia to continue the ‘mission’ of the detained agent. SBU officers documented the intelligence and sabotage activities of her accomplices and detained them,” the Ukrainian security service noted.
During searches of the suspects’ premises, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones that the suspects used to gather intelligence and maintain contact with FSB representatives.
SBU investigators informed the detainees that they are suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—treason committed by a group of individuals acting in concert under martial law.
Currently, both suspects are being held in custody without the right to bail. If found guilty, they face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Previously, the SBU’s military counterintelligence unit exposed and neutralized a large-scale network of Russian military intelligence agents. It consisted of 14 individuals who were gathering information on Ukrainian air bases and F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets.

In Khmelnytskyi, Prokopenko, the head of the regional SBU office, was detained.
As a reminder, a man was detained in Odesa after firing shots at employees of the Territorial Center for Recruitment.
Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Karchuk was detained at the border in Poland.
A veteran of the Kraken special forces unit was detained in Kyiv.
