The SBU has exposed a Hungarian intelligence officer who ran a network of agents in Zakarpattia

Ukrainian law enforcement officials have identified a Hungarian military intelligence officer who organized and coordinated a spy network in Zakarpattia.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the individual in question is Zoltan Andre, who worked in Georgia from 2016 to 2020 under the cover of a diplomatic mission representative, where he engaged in intelligence activities.

After returning in 2021, he began working against Ukraine. That same year, he managed to recruit a former soldier from the Berehove district, who was subsequently involved in gathering information on the positions of Ukrainian troops, particularly air defense systems.

The agent was also tasked with seeking out new candidates for recruitment among military personnel and law enforcement officers. The SBU identified another recruited individual—a former contract soldier in a combat brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the security service, Andre attempted to recruit Ukrainians by offering money, benefits, or even narcotics. To collect personal data, he utilized the facilities of Hungarian diplomatic missions in Zakarpattia.

He held most of his meetings in secret, particularly in a car, using an alias.

The SBU stated that the investigation is ongoing, and all those involved in the activities of the spy network will be identified and brought to justice.

As a reminder, a double terrorist attack occurred this morning in Bucha near a residential building, injuring police officers.

The SBU also announced that a woman from Kharkiv is under suspicion for luring police officers into a terrorist attack in Lviv.
