The SBU detained a Russian agent who directed the attack on Dnipro on June 2
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a man suspected of directing a Russian missile and drone attack on Dnipro on the night of June 2.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a former military serviceman from the Krynychanskyi district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast who held a Russian passport.
Law enforcement officials established that he was gathering information on the flights of Ukrainian Air Force fighter jets and attack helicopters, which provide air defense for the region. The data obtained was intended to help Russian troops identify weaknesses in Ukraine’s air defense and determine the locations of aviation bases.

To gather information, the suspect would go out into the field during air raid alerts, recording the flight paths and departure times of the Defense Forces’ aircraft and helicopters.
According to the SBU, the man was recruited via a Telegram channel, where he independently sought contact with representatives of the Russian Federation.

During a search of his residence, a Russian passport and a mobile phone containing evidence of collaboration with the enemy were seized.
The detainee was notified of his suspicion of treason committed under martial law. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.
If found guilty, the man faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
